Let’s dive into the detailed instructions for installation.
Step 1: Assemble the Aluminum Alloy Frame
The first step involves assembling the triangular aluminum alloy frames into trapezoidal, pentagonal, and hexagonal shapes. This preliminary assembly is crucial to speed up the installation process and ensure that the structure remains stable during construction.
Step 2: Install the Framework
Before installing, determine the dome door's location based on the site layout. This ensures that the entrance is placed optimally according to the surrounding environment and usage needs.
Once the door position is decided, start the installation by placing the trapezoidal and hexagonal aluminum alloy frames on both sides of the door. The first layer uses hexagonal frames, which helps with precise positioning of the dome.
Then, proceed to install the pentagonal frames, layer by layer, moving upward until the topmost pentagonal frame is installed. This completes the framework of the dome.
Step 3: Installing the Glass Panels
After the aluminum frame is set, it’s time to install the glass panels. Begin by attaching double-sided adhesive tape to the frame’s edges, ensuring that the tape fits tightly against the raised edges of the frame. Gently place the glass panels into the triangular frames. Once two adjacent glass panels are installed, apply structural adhesive using a caulking gun to secure the glass.
After applying the adhesive, use a scraper to remove the excess glue between the glass panels. Once the adhesive starts to set, tear off the masking tape you applied earlier to give the joint a clean, polished appearance. The glass panels are installed from the top down, ensuring a tight, waterproof seal for maximum safety and wind resistance.
Step 4: Installing the Wooden Panels
Next, we move on to installing the wooden panels, which follow the same process as the glass installation. Apply double-sided tape to the frame, place the wooden panels onto the structure, and secure them with structural adhesive. As with the glass, scrape off any excess glue and remove the masking tape for a smooth finish.
If your wooden geodesic dome includes both inner and outer wooden panels, be sure to install the inner panels first, followed by the outer panels, for a polished and layered look.
Step 5: Installing Solar Fan, Glass Doors, and Windows
The final step is to install the exhaust solar fan, glass doors, and windows. The fan requires pre-drilled holes in the glass or wooden panels, and it is secured with screws from the inside and outside.
For the doors and windows, start by installing the frames and then affix the glass panels into the frames, ensuring a snug fit.
By following these steps, you can successfully install a basic wooden glass dome tent.
